Märkligt sammanträffande/Strange coincidence (Postcrossing)

Idag hände något rätt otroligt! Jag har ju hållit på med Postcrossing sedan i mars, och klickat fram adresser till folk i många olika länder. Ungefär lika många gånger har folk runt om i världen skickat vykort till mig.

Today something amazing happened! I became a Postcrossing member in March this year and I’ve sent lots of postcards to people in many different countries. At the same time people all over the world have sent me postcards. 

Den 7 september fick jag en adress till en tjej i Taiwan. Jag skickade det här kortet, som kom fram till henne den 23 september.

On September 7th I got the address of a girl in Taiwan. I sent her this card, which arrived on September 23rd.

Jag skrev ett tackmeddelande och tittade sedan lite närmare på avsändarens sida och tyckte att det var något bekant med hennes användarnamn. Jag tittade i min egen lista över skickade vykort och kände igen det som namnet på den person jag skrivit till den 7 september. Det visade sig att kortet till mig också var skickat den 7 september, vi måste alltså ha klickat fram varandras adresser! Hur ofta händer sådant, undrar jag, med tanke på att det finns tusentals medlemmar över hela världen?

I wrote a thank you message and then I looked a little closer at the sender’s profile page, and thought there was something familiar about her username. I looked at my own list of sent postcards and recognised the name of the person I wrote to on September 7th. It turned out that the card she had sent to me was sent on the same day! We must have received each other’s addresses at the same time! How often does that happen, considering that there are thousands of members all over the world?
